Who it's for
- "The gym keeps charging me after I cancelled."
- "IndiGo gave me a credit shell, I want my money back."
- "The course said 'no refunds' but it was nothing like advertised."
- "An app renewed my subscription for a year without warning."
Why people use Refundquill
Companies make cancelling and getting refunds hard on purpose: chat bots that loop, 'no refunds' policies that the law doesn't allow, 'credit shell' instead of cash, auto-renewals you never agreed to. Most people give up after the second email, and the money stays with the company. Refundquill writes the message that gets results: it names your specific rights (the cooling-off period, the defective-goods rule, the airline refund deadline, the card-network chargeback right), sets a clear deadline, and says exactly what you'll do next. If they don't reply, you get the escalation - the company's grievance officer or ombudsman, the National Consumer Helpline or e-Jagriti in India, Section 75 or the chargeback in the UK, the card dispute and regulators in the US - in the right order, with the evidence to attach.
- ✓ A firm, polite refund or cancellation request citing the rules that apply to you
- ✓ India: Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, DGCA airline refund timelines, RBI-backed card and UPI disputes, National Consumer Helpline (1915) and e-Jagriti
- ✓ UK: Consumer Rights Act 30-day right to reject, 14-day cooling-off online, Section 75 on credit cards, chargeback
- ✓ US: card chargebacks, FTC and state attorney general complaints, auto-renewal laws
- ✓ Step-by-step escalation with dates: reminder, grievance officer, ombudsman / consumer forum, chargeback
- ✓ Evidence checklist: screenshots, order IDs, cancellation proofs
- ✓ Short message versions for chat, email and social media

Frequently asked questions
Can a company refuse a refund because its policy says 'no refunds'?
A policy can't take away rights the law gives you. In the UK, faulty goods can be rejected within 30 days and most online purchases have a 14-day cancellation right. In India, a deficient service or a product not as described can be challenged before the consumer commission whatever the policy says. The letter cites what applies to you.
The airline gave me a credit shell. Can I insist on a refund?
In India, under DGCA rules the credit shell is the passenger's option; if the airline cancels, you can ask for a refund, which must be processed within 7 days for card payments. EU and UK rules also give you the choice of a refund when a flight is cancelled.
When should I do a chargeback?
After you've asked the merchant and they refused or didn't respond. Card networks have time limits (often around 120 days from the transaction or expected delivery), so don't wait too long. In the UK, Section 75 makes the credit card issuer jointly liable for purchases between £100 and £30,000.
How do I complain in India if the company ignores me?
Register a complaint with the National Consumer Helpline (1915, or the NCH app/website) - it forwards it to the company. If that fails, file before the District Consumer Commission online on e-Jagriti within 2 years.
What does it cost?
Your first letter each day is free. After that, ₹99 / $2 buys one letter with 3 revisions (for example the escalation version later). No subscription.
